Genuine Dell OEM LCD Video Cable for Precision 7740

This genuine Dell OEM ribbon cable replaces the display link in a Precision 7740 laptop. It is built for the 17.3 inch FHD panel with a standard HD webcam. Technicians and owners repairing a cracked hinge or flickering screen use this part to restore the factory connection.

FHD resolution and HD webcam compatibility

The cable carries the 1920 x 1080 video signal and the HD camera feed through a single EDP connector. It fits only Precision 7740 models equipped with that exact screen and camera combination. Buyers with a UHD panel or an IR camera need a different part number and should verify before ordering.

Direct plug-in replacement with no soldering

Installation requires opening the display assembly, disconnecting the old ribbon, and seating the new cable into the motherboard and panel connectors. The thin flat ribbon must be routed without sharp bends; pinching it during reassembly is the most common cause of a dead screen or camera after the repair.

Questions about this item

What does the 1920 x 1080 FHD resolution mean for the Precision 7740 display once this cable is installed?

The cable carries the full 1920 by 1080 pixel signal to the 17.3 inch panel so the laptop shows native FHD clarity with the standard HD webcam feed included.

Which video interface standard does the HYNTF ribbon cable use and what does it limit in practice?

It uses the embedded DisplayPort protocol built into the Precision 7740 motherboard, limiting the link to the panel's native 1920 x 1080 resolution and the HD camera data lines.

What physical space and mounting points does this 17.3 inch ribbon cable need inside the Precision 7740?

The flat flex ribbon routes through the hinge channel and plugs into the 70 pin EDP connector on the system board and the matching socket on the FHD LCD assembly.
