Precision T5820 Xeon workstation

The Dell Precision T5820 Tower is a mid-tower workstation built around an Intel Xeon W-2123 processor with four cores running at 3.6 GHz and a 3.9 GHz turbo frequency. It ships with 64 GB of DDR4 2666 registered ECC memory across four slots and a 2 TB PCIe NVMe solid-state drive. An NVIDIA Quadro P4000 graphics card with 8 GB of GDDR5 memory provides four DisplayPort outputs. The system includes a 950 W 80 Plus Gold power supply and comes with Windows 11 Pro pre-installed.

Suited for professional CAD and compute

This configuration suits engineers, designers and analysts who need certified professional graphics, error-correcting memory and a high-wattage power supply in a tower form factor. The four-core Xeon and Quadro P4000 combination handles 3D modelling, simulation pre-processing and multi-display workflows. Buyers who require higher core counts, multiple GPUs or greater memory capacity should evaluate alternative workstation platforms.

Quadro P4000 with four DisplayPort outputs

The NVIDIA Quadro P4000 is the specification that determines display connectivity and professional driver support. It delivers four DisplayPort connectors and 8 GB of GDDR5 memory for certified application performance. Users needing more than four native display outputs or a different GPU architecture must add a compatible card or select another system.

Questions about this item

Will the 950 W 80 Plus Gold PSU keep noise and heat low during all-day rendering?

The 950 W 80 Plus Gold unit runs at 90 % efficiency, so less waste heat reaches the chassis and the fan spins slower under sustained Quadro P4000 loads.

Does the motherboard need registered ECC DDR4 modules, or will standard UDIMMs work?

The four installed 16 GB sticks are registered ECC DDR4 2666; the LGA 2066 Xeon W-2123 memory controller requires registered ECC, so standard UDIMMs are not compatible.
