Precision T7810 Xeon workstation

The Dell Precision T7810 is a tower workstation built around a single Intel Xeon E5-2650 v3 ten-core processor running at 2.3 GHz with Hyperthreading for twenty virtual cores. It ships with 8 GB of DDR4 2133 ECC memory, a new 500 GB SATA SSD, an Nvidia NVS 310 512 MB graphics card and Windows 10 Pro 64-bit pre-installed. A 685 W 90 % efficient power supply and a DVD-RW drive complete the configuration.

Suits multi-threaded professional tasks

This system suits users who need a Xeon platform with ECC memory support for rendering, simulation or CAD workloads that benefit from ten physical cores and twenty threads. Buyers who want more storage capacity or higher graphics performance for modern 3D applications should look at something else. The NVS 310 is intended for multi-display business use rather than GPU compute or gaming.

Standard tower installation

Installation follows normal tower procedure: open the side panel, connect peripherals to the rear I/O and power on. The 500 GB SSD occupies one of the two internal 3.5-inch bays; the second bay and the 5.25-inch external bay remain free for additional drives. The NVS 310 uses a low-profile bracket and draws power from the slot. Ensure the 685 W supply cables reach all drive positions before closing the chassis.

Questions about this item

Does this Precision T7810 include a monitor so I can start working immediately?

No monitor is included with this workstation; you will need to provide your own display and connect it to the Nvidia NVS 310 512MB graphics card.

Will the installed Nvidia NVS 310 512MB graphics card still drive a legacy DVI display I already own?

The NVS 310 provides DisplayPort outputs; you can use a passive DisplayPort-to-DVI adapter to run your existing DVI monitor at its native resolution.

How can I confirm the Xeon E5-2650 v3 is running with all 10 cores and hyper-threading enabled after first boot?

Open Task Manager, select the Performance tab, and verify that 20 logical processors are shown for the CPU.
