Precision T7820 dual-Xeon workstation

The Dell Precision T7820 is a tower workstation equipped with two Intel Xeon Platinum 8168 processors, giving 48 cores at 2.7 GHz for professional design, engineering and rendering workloads. It ships with Windows 11 Pro installed and is aimed at users who need high multi-threaded compute power in a single chassis.

32 GB DDR4 ECC and 512 GB SATA SSD

The system includes 32 GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory across 12 slots, supporting smooth multitasking and larger project files while leaving room for future expansion. A 512 GB SATA SSD provides quick access to applications and active datasets, though users working with very large media libraries or simulation data will need additional storage.

Quadro P5000 graphics and thermals

The NVIDIA Quadro P5000 with 16 GB video memory drives professional visual tasks such as CAD, content creation and multi-display configurations. In typical professional workloads the tower’s cooling manages CPU and GPU heat without excessive noise, and power draw scales with the dual-processor configuration and graphics load.

Questions about this item

Will my existing DDR4 ECC Registered memory modules work in the 12 slots of this Precision T7820?

Yes, the workstation uses DDR4 ECC Registered memory and has 12 slots, so compatible modules can be added alongside the installed 32GB.

How can I verify the dual Xeon Platinum 8168 CPUs and Quadro P5000 are recognised after first boot?

Open Task Manager or Device Manager in Windows 11 Pro; you should see 48 logical processors across two sockets and the NVIDIA Quadro P5000 with 16GB video memory listed.

Does the box include the 512GB SATA SSD and Windows 11 Pro licence, or must I buy them separately?

The 512GB SATA SSD comes installed and Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed and activated, so no separate purchase is needed for either.
