Professional dual-Xeon workstation

The Dell T7820 pairs two Xeon Silver 4114 processors for a total of 20 cores at 2.20GHz, delivering 64GB of DDR4 memory and a 1TB SSD. An NVIDIA M4000 GPU handles professional visual workloads while Windows 11 Pro is preinstalled. The tower chassis offers four 3.5-inch expansion bays for additional storage.

Sustained multi-threaded throughput

With both CPUs installed at the maximum of two sockets, the system maintains consistent performance across long rendering, simulation or analysis jobs. The 768GB memory ceiling allows future expansion without replacing the platform. Dedicated GPU resources keep display output stable while compute tasks run on all cores.

Upgrade from single-socket or entry-level towers

Replaces older workstations that hit core-count or memory limits on large assemblies or datasets. The jump is worth it when projects exceed the capacity of a single processor or when ECC memory and ISV-certified drivers become daily requirements. Not suited for buyers who need more than four internal drive bays or a newer GPU architecture.

Questions about this item

How much heat and noise should I expect from the dual Xeon Silver 4114 CPUs running at 2.20GHz all day?

The workstation uses two 10-core Xeon Silver 4114 processors at 2.20GHz; Dell's chassis and cooling are designed for sustained professional workloads, so fan noise stays at typical workstation levels under continuous load.

Will my existing DDR4 memory modules work if I want to expand beyond the installed 64GB?

Yes, the system takes DDR4 memory and supports up to 768GB total, so compatible DDR4 DIMMs can be added to the open slots.

Can I keep using my current 3.5-inch hard drives in the four expansion bays?

The chassis provides four 3.5" bays, so existing 3.5-inch drives fit directly without adapters.
