Genuine Dell OEM Replacement Part

This genuine Dell OEM video ribbon cable carries part number G959P and is built for the Dell Vostro 1220 laptop. It replaces the internal display link on 12.1" LED-backlit panels only. Buyers must verify their existing cable matches this part number before purchase.

Sustained Signal Integrity

The cable maintains a stable video path between the motherboard and the LED panel during continuous operation. Its fixed pinout and shielding resist signal degradation that can cause flicker or artefacts over long sessions. No active components are present, so reliability depends on secure seating at both ends.

Thin Flex Construction

The flat flexible ribbon routes through the hinge channel without adding bulk that could stress the lid mechanism. Connectors at each end are keyed to the Vostro 1220 mainboard and LED panel sockets, preventing misalignment during reassembly. Handling the exposed traces requires care to avoid creases.

Questions about this item

How much power does the G959P ribbon cable draw when the Vostro 1220 runs all day?

The cable is a passive component and draws no power itself; it simply carries the video signal from the motherboard to the 12.1" LED panel.

What must I already own for the G959P to work in my Vostro 1220?

You need a Vostro 1220 laptop that originally shipped with a 12.1" LED-backlit LCD screen and a confirmed motherboard video connector matching this part.

Will the G959P cable fit an older Vostro 1220 that still uses a CCFL screen?

No, this ribbon cable is compatible only with Vostro 1220 models equipped with a LED backlit LCD; CCFL models use a different cable.
