3.7 V lithium RAID battery maintains controller cache on PowerEdge 1850, 2850 and 6850 servers
This 3.7 V lithium battery is built for Dell PowerEdge 1850, 2850 and 6850 servers. It supplies backup power to the RAID controller cache so that write data survives an unexpected power loss. The module is new and carries the Dell X6347 part number. It is not suited for systems outside the listed PowerEdge models.
Under continuous write workloads the battery maintains the cache voltage long enough for the controller to flush data to disk. It is designed for the duty cycle of the supported PowerEdge RAID controllers rather than for short bursts alone. Capacity will follow the normal lithium chemistry ageing curve over extended service.

The battery generates minimal heat under normal use; ensure the server chassis airflow remains unobstructed for proper cooling.
This battery is designed for PowerEdge 1850, 2850 and 6850 systems; it will not fit other models.
