A 3.84 TB SAS read-intensive TLC SED 2.5-inch enterprise SSD compatible with Dell PowerEdge servers
This Dell XNXD2 drive delivers 3.84 TB of capacity on a 12 Gb/s SAS interface. It uses TLC NAND rated for read-intensive workloads. The 2.5 inch form factor fits standard enterprise bays. Self-encrypting SED technology protects data at rest.
Firmware is updated and components are tested before shipment. The read-intensive design sustains high random-read throughput over long periods. TLC media handles consistent read queues without the write amplification of mixed workloads. Power-loss protection preserves in-flight data during unexpected shutdowns.
The 12 Gb/s SAS link sets the maximum bus bandwidth for this drive. Dual-port SAS topology provides path redundancy but does not double single-stream throughput. Controller firmware and backplane negotiation determine the final link rate. Systems limited to 6 Gb/s SAS will operate at the lower speed.

The 3.84TB read-intensive drive uses TLC NAND and a 12Gbs SAS interface optimised for steady enterprise workloads.
It fits a standard 2.5-inch hot-plug bay and requires a 12Gbs SAS HBA or RAID controller with SAS cabling.
Yes, the 12Gbs interface negotiates down to 6Gbs so the XNXD2 runs with older SAS drives on the same backplane.
