17-inch laptop with i7-11800H

The Dell XPS 17 9710 pairs an 11-core Intel Core i7-11800H processor with 16GB of memory and a 512GB solid-state drive. A 17-inch 1920 x 1080 non-touch display provides a spacious workspace for content creation or multi-window productivity. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed and the unit ships in Grade A cosmetic condition with a healthy battery.

Thermals noise and power in daily use

Under typical office loads the cooling system runs quietly and surface temperatures stay comfortable for lap use. Heavier workloads engage the fans more audibly while the chassis manages heat without throttling the i7-11800H. The included power adapter supplies enough headroom for sustained performance and battery recharge simultaneously.

Charger and Windows 11 Pro ready to work

The package contains only the laptop and its matching charger, so no dock, stylus or external peripherals are bundled. Windows 11 Pro enables BitLocker encryption, remote desktop hosting and domain join for business environments. Buyers who want a touchscreen, higher-resolution panel or additional accessories will need to source them separately.

Questions about this item

How do I install extra storage in the XPS 17 9710 and what step is often missed?

Remove the bottom cover, insert the M.2 drive into the open slot, then secure it with the tiny screw; the step most people skip is re-enabling the drive in the BIOS so Windows can see it.

Which component will need replacement first during the life of this 17" laptop?

The internal battery is rated Good today but will degrade with charge cycles; plan to swap it once runtime drops below your workflow needs.

What thermal limit appears first on the i7-11800H during long renders?

Sustained loads push the processor to its thermal ceiling, causing clock speeds to throttle until the chassis can shed heat.
