17" 4K Touch Laptop

The Dell XPS 9710 is a 17.0 inch laptop with a 3840 x 2400 touchscreen display. It runs Windows 11 Pro on an Intel Core i7-11800H processor with 8 cores reaching 4.60 GHz turbo. The system includes 32GB memory and a 1TB SSD. Integrated graphics handle the visual output.

Thunderbolt 4 Ports & Power

Before ordering, confirm that your peripherals and external displays connect via the two Thunderbolt 4 ports, which carry DisplayPort and Power Delivery. A full-size SD card reader v6.0 and a 3.5mm combo jack are the only other physical interfaces. The wedge-shaped lock slot accepts a compatible security cable.

Sustained Load Behaviour

Under sustained load the 8 core processor maintains performance within the 0.77 inch thick chassis. The touch model with a 97Whr battery weighs 5.34 lb, while the non-touch version weighs 4.87 lb. Integrated graphics share system memory, so extended heavy rendering will draw from the 32GB pool. The 93.7% screen-to-body ratio leaves limited surface area for airflow.

Questions about this item

What comes in the box and what must I buy separately?

The laptop ships with Windows 11 Pro pre-installed and a power adapter for the Thunderbolt 4 ports. No external peripherals or cables are included.

Which version should I choose between the touch and non-touch 4K models?

This unit is the 17.0" 3840 x 2400 touchscreen version weighing 2.42 kg; the non-touch model weighs 2.21 kg and lacks the touch layer.

What does the 4.6 GHz turbo figure mean in daily use?

The Core i7-11800H can reach 4.60 GHz on up to eight cores for short bursts, so heavy workloads like video export hit peak speed before thermal limits settle at the 2.3 GHz base.
