5MP 185° fisheye IP camera

The Digital Watchdog DWC-PVF5DI1TW is a 5MP fisheye network camera built for wide-area surveillance with a single device. Its 1.5mm lens delivers a 185° field of view, and the Star-Light Plus CMOS sensor provides colour video in near-total darkness. Integrated infrared illumination reaches 80ft. ONVIF compliance and multiple streaming protocols simplify integration with existing recorders or video management software.

PoE and cabling checklist

The camera connects via RJ45 10/100Base-T and supports IEEE 802.3af class 3 Power over Ethernet, so a single cable carries both data and power. Verify that your switch or injector supplies PoE class 3; otherwise a separate DC12V supply is required. Ensure the network infrastructure handles the chosen codec — H.265, H.264 or MJPEG — at up to 30fps. Audio and alarm integration need one input and one output each, using the provided terminals.

Mounting and system fit

The compact 4.9in diameter by 1.88in height housing suits ceiling or wall mounts where a panoramic view replaces multiple fixed cameras. Dewarping is handled client-side or by the VMS, freeing recorder channels and reducing cabling runs. The 1/1.8in sensor and slow-shutter options maintain low-light detail without extra lighting. Audio capture and G.711 compression add evidence-grade sound to the video stream.

Questions about this item

Does the DWC-PVF5DI1TW come with a DC12V power adapter or must I supply one?

The camera accepts DC12V or PoE IEEE 802.3af class 3; the adapter is not included so you must provide either a 12V supply or a PoE switch.

Which resolution mode should I select for the widest 185° view at 30fps?

Choose the 5MP 2592x1944 setting in H.265 or H.264; it delivers the full fisheye field of view at up to 30fps.

What does the 80ft IR range mean for night monitoring in a real installation?

The built-in IR illuminators cover up to 80ft, so objects within that distance stay visible in near-total darkness.
