What the capture device does

The DigitNow V316 is a USB 3.0 video capturing device that records or streams gameplay and other HDMI sources at up to 1080p 60fps. It connects to Windows, Mac OS X 10.9 or above, and Linux without drivers or external power, appearing as a webcam to OBS, VLC, Potplayer and similar software.

The specification that decides fit

The single channel HDMI loop-out passes the source signal to a display with no added delay while the capture path delivers 1080p 60fps to the host, so the device suits creators who need real-time monitoring alongside recording or live streaming.

What the bundled connections change

A 3.5 mm TRS microphone input lets you add live commentary during capture, though party chat is not recorded, while component, S-Video and composite inputs extend compatibility to legacy consoles and analogue sources beyond the HDMI port.
