DIRECTV Band Stop Filter Pack of 2

The DIRECTV BSFR1-01 Band Stop Filter pack contains two units designed for satellite installations. Each filter enables non-DECA receivers to connect to a SWM multi-room viewing system. This accessory is intended for subscribers expanding an existing DIRECTV Connected Home setup.

Universal cable connectors enable receiver

The universal cable connectors allow compatible receivers such as the H20, HR20, D12 and R16 to join the DECA network. One filter is required per listed receiver to block DECA signals from legacy equipment. The filters work alongside a DECA unit for each receiver to deliver Multi Room Viewing.

Verify SWM system and receiver models before

Confirm the installation uses a single wire multiswitch infrastructure before purchasing. Identify every receiver that lacks built-in DECA support and count them to match the two filters supplied. Additional DECA adapters will be needed for each legacy receiver on the account.

Questions about this item

Does the BSFR1-01 filter itself need periodic replacement or maintenance?

The filter is a passive coaxial component with no moving parts or consumable elements, so it does not require scheduled replacement or maintenance under normal operation.

What is the first limitation encountered when the filter runs continuously in a SWM multi-room system?

The practical limit is the SWM system's own capacity — each non-DECA receiver such as the H20, HR20, D12 or R16 needs its own filter and DECA unit, so the number of available SWM ports becomes the constraining factor.

How much heat or noise does the filter produce when installed on a receiver line all day?

As a passive band-stop filter it draws no power and generates no audible noise; any temperature rise is negligible and matches the ambient temperature of the coaxial cable run.
