33 ft Cat 8 flat braided cable

This 33 ft Cat 8 Ethernet cable uses 26 AWG copper conductors in a flat braided jacket to deliver up to 40 Gbps at 2000 MHz. It is built for gamers, streamers and home-office users who need a thin, flexible run that fits under carpets or along baseboards without bulk.

40 Gbps at 2000 MHz bandwidth

The single specification that decides fit is the 40 Gbps data rate at 2000 MHz over S/FTP shielded twisted pairs. If your router, modem or network card only negotiates lower speeds, the cable will still work but cannot raise the link beyond the port capability.

Gold-plated RJ45 and aluminium shells

Each end carries a 24 k gold-plated RJ45 plug housed in an aluminium shell instead of plain plastic. The plating resists oxidation for long-term contact reliability while the metal shell adds strain relief and shields the connector from EMI.

Questions about this item

What does the 40 Gbps rating mean when the cable is plugged into my router?

The 40 Gbps figure is the cable's maximum design capacity at 2000 MHz. Actual throughput depends on your router, modem, network card and ISP plan; the cable will not exceed the slowest link in the chain.

How does the Cat 8 classification limit real-world performance?

Cat 8 specifies 2000 MHz bandwidth and 40 Gbps over short runs. In practice the cable is backward compatible with Cat 6, Cat 5e and older RJ45 gear, so it will negotiate the highest speed both ends support.

Will the 33 ft flat braided cable fit under a door or along a skirting board?

The flat 26 AWG profile and cotton braid make it thin and flexible enough to slide under doors, along skirting boards or through tight cable channels without kinking.
