It mounts directly to the gimbal and draws power from it, adding 43,200 ranging points and a 70-degree field of view to the focus system. Operators who rely on manual follow-focus or use other gimbal models cannot use this unit.

Not for Other Gimbals or Manual Workflows

The device only functions when paired with the RS 3 Pro, so owners of the RS 2, RS 3, RSC 2 or any third-party stabiliser must look elsewhere. It also does not suit shooters who prefer purely mechanical focus pulling without electronic assistance. If your workflow demands multi-camera timecode sync or wireless video transmission, those capabilities are not included here.

The finder measures distance from 0.5 to 14 metres, delivering 43,200 points across that span with a 30-millimetre equivalent focal length. This range determines whether your subject stays within the autofocus envelope during a take. Scenes that regularly exceed 14 metres or require focus pulls starting closer than half a metre will fall outside the sensor’s reliable operating window.
