Scale & Subject

This 1/72 scale plastic model depicts the German Sd.Kfz.164 Hornisse "Nashorn" armoured vehicle in German Army markings. It belongs to the NEO Dragon Armor series and arrives in a sealed display showcase. The piece is aimed at adult collectors and military-history enthusiasts who value accurate, ready-to-display replicas.

Detail & Limitations

Pad-printed markings resist fading and peeling, while the true-to-scale exterior captures the vehicle's silhouette without any openings. The fixed showcase protects the model but prevents internal inspection or diorama placement. Dimensions are approximately 3.5 inches long (4 inches with cannon), 1.625 inches wide and 1.75 inches high.

Upgrade Context

This limited-edition release replaces earlier decaled versions that degrade over time, offering a more durable finish for long-term display. The jump is worthwhile for collectors who prioritise preservation and factory-sealed presentation over customisable or open-hatch alternatives.

Questions about this item

Will the 1/72 scale Nashorn fit in my existing 1/72 diorama with other German armour?

Yes, the 1/72 scale matches standard 1/72 military vehicles so the Sd.Kfz.164 will sit correctly alongside Panzer IVs, Tigers or half-tracks in the same scene.

How can I verify the pad-printed markings are correctly aligned on the finished model?

Inspect the tactical numbers, crosses and unit placards under good light; they should be crisp, centred on each panel and show no decal film edges because they are pad printed rather than applied as waterslide decals.

Does the box include glue, paint or tools, or is it just the model and display case?

The package contains the completed plastic model with cannon, a clear plastic display showcase and the pad-printed markings already applied; no glue, paint, brushes or assembly tools are supplied.
