Bulk Cat5e cable for installers

This DRIPSTONE 600025 cable supplies 1000 ft of unshielded twisted-pair wire for structured wiring jobs. Four solid 24AWG conductors with 0.51 mm diameter support voice, data and video distribution. The black jacket carries a running foot-count print to simplify measuring during pulls.

Cat5e bandwidth and distance limits

The cable is rated to 350 MHz and certified for 10, 100 and 1000 Mbps Ethernet up to 100 metres per segment. Unshielded construction means it offers no protection against external electromagnetic interference in noisy environments. Solid conductors are not suited for repeated flexing or patch-cord use.

Replaces older Cat5 or shorter spools

Installers pulling new drops through walls or ceilings gain headroom over legacy Cat5 and avoid splicing multiple shorter reels. The jump is worth it when a single 1000 ft box can serve an entire floor or small building. Buyers who need shielded cable or stranded patch leads should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Should I choose this 1000 ft roll or a shorter length for my installation?

The 1000 ft roll suits whole-building runs where you cut exact lengths on site; the printed foot markers let you measure without a separate tape.

What does the 350 MHz rating mean for actual network speed?

It provides enough bandwidth for 1000Base-T Gigabit Ethernet at the full 100 metre channel limit, so connected devices can negotiate 10/100/1000 Mbps.

How does the unshielded UTP design affect performance near power cables?

Without shielding the cable relies on balanced twisted pairs to reject noise; keep a practical separation from mains voltage to avoid induced interference.
