High-temperature polyimide electrical tape in amber, 1 inch wide by 33 3/8 yards long, withstands up to 750 degrees Fahrenheit
DuPont Kapton HN is a continuous roll of amber polyimide film designed for electrical insulation in high-heat environments. The tape measures one inch wide and provides thirty-three and three-eighths yards of length at five mil thickness. It withstands continuous exposure up to seven hundred fifty degrees Fahrenheit without degrading.
Engineers and technicians use this tape for coil wrapping, harness insulation and circuit board masking during wave soldering. The non-adhesive film requires mechanical fixturing or a separate adhesive layer, so it is not suited for applications needing a pressure-sensitive bond. Buyers who need a self-sticking electrical tape should look at a different product.
The five mil polyimide construction determines the dielectric strength and mechanical durability for a given wrap count. Thinner films conform tighter but offer less puncture resistance; thicker films increase insulation at the cost of flexibility. Select the thickness that matches the voltage withstand and space constraints of your specific assembly.

Clean the surface, then wrap the 1 in wide polyimide film with slight tension and 50 % overlap; the step most people skip is pressing firmly along the full length to activate the silicone adhesive before the first heat cycle.
Replace the roll once the film darkens, becomes brittle or the silicone adhesive loses tack — typically after repeated excursions to the 750 Degrees F maximum rating.
The silicone adhesive degrades before the polyimide film, so bond failure is the first limit under sustained 750 Degrees F exposure.
