A 6-inch random orbital air sander with a gearless .3 hp motor, 3/32 in orbit and variable speed for heavy-duty finishing
The Dynabrade 56859 is a pneumatic random orbital sander built for heavy-duty surface preparation. Its palm-grip design and .3 hp gearless motor suit professional technicians and serious DIY users who need consistent material removal on wood, metal or composite panels. Variable speed control lets the operator match the cutting action to the task.
A hook-and-loop vinyl face accepts 6 in discs for quick changes without tools. The gearless motor reduces vibration and eliminates gear maintenance, while rear exhaust directs airflow away from the work surface. A 1/4 in NPT air inlet and 1/4 in minimum hose size connect to standard shop supply lines running at 90 psi.
Verify your compressor can deliver 18 cfm continuously at 90 psi before ordering. The sander accepts only hook-and-loop discs in a 6 in diameter, so confirm your abrasive stock matches. No vacuum port is fitted, so dust extraction must be handled separately if required.
Measured against everything we stock in Air & Hydraulic Power Tools, at today’s prices. Recalculated every night.

The sander needs 90 psi at the tool and a hose that can deliver 18 cfm to maintain full speed under load.
Any 6 in hook-and-loop disc with a matching vinyl backup pad rated for the 3/32 in orbit will mount directly.
Thread the 1/4 in NPT fitting into the rear inlet, use a 1/4 in minimum hose, and add a few drops of air-tool oil before first use — the oiling step is the one most people skip.
