Compact Copper Cooler for LGA 1156

The Dynatron K199 is an 80 mm air cooler built around a solid copper heatsink and a dual-ball-bearing fan. It mounts horizontally on Intel LGA 1156 sockets and supports Core i5-750, Core i7-860, Core i7-870 and Xeon 3400 series processors. The 4-pin PWM connector allows automatic speed control.

Replaces Stock Intel Coolers

This unit upgrades the thin aluminium coolers bundled with boxed processors, adding copper conductivity and a wider RPM range. The jump is worthwhile when the original cooler runs at high duty cycles or when a lower-profile 29 mm height is required for tight chassis. It does not suit builders needing higher thermal capacity for overclocked CPUs.

Limited by 80 mm Fan and Single Socket

The 80 x 80 x 15 mm fan delivers 5.355 CFM at 1000 RPM and 14.719 CFM at 5000 RPM, with noise rising from 20.71 dBA to 51.7 dBA across the range. Airflow and static pressure are constrained by the small diameter, so sustained heavy loads may exceed its dissipation ability. Compatibility ends at LGA 1156 and the listed LGA 1155 processors.

Questions about this item

Will the 29 mm cooler height and 85.0 x 81.5 mm heatsink footprint fit inside my chassis and clear the motherboard components?

The cooler stands 29 mm tall with a heatsink footprint of 85.0 x 81.5 mm. Measure your case CPU clearance and the area around the LGA 1156 socket to confirm fit.

How do I mount the K199 using the screw-type brackets, and what is the common mistake?

Align the supplied screw brackets with the LGA 1156 mounting holes, tighten diagonally in stages, and ensure the pre-applied thermal grease contacts the CPU before powering on.

When should I expect to replace the 80 mm 2 ball bearing fan on this cooler?

The dual ball bearing fan is rated for long life; plan to replace it if noise rises above 51.7 dBA at full speed or airflow drops below 14.719 CFM.
