A pair of 8-inch in-ceiling speakers with polypropylene woofers, 1-inch silk dome tweeters, 200 W power handling and paintable magnetic grilles
The Earthquake Sound R800 is a pair of eight-inch in-ceiling speakers designed for whole-home audio or home-theatre surround channels. They install flush into a standard ceiling cut-out and are sold as a matched set for stereo or multi-room coverage.
Each speaker presents an eight-ohm load and handles up to two-hundred watts maximum power with a ninety-two decibel sensitivity rating. A twelve-decibel-per-octave crossover network includes a polyswitch for thermal tweeter protection during extended listening sessions.
The eight-inch polypropylene woofer and wider surround deliver deeper bass extension down to forty-five hertz compared to six-inch or smaller in-ceiling units. The jump is worthwhile when the listening area demands fuller low-frequency output without adding a separate subwoofer.

Cut a 240 mm hole, insert the speaker, then twist the Turn ‘N’ Lock mechanism until it locks; the step people miss is fully rotating each lock until it clicks, otherwise the speaker can work loose over time.
The 12 dB/octave crossover includes a Polyswitch thermal protector for the 1-inch silk dome tweeter; if the tweeter is overdriven the Polyswitch trips and must be reset or the crossover board replaced to restore high-frequency output.
The 200 W maximum power handling is the first limit; sustained levels above this will trigger the tweeter’s thermal protection and risk voice-coil damage in the 203 mm polypropylene woofer.
