Double-conversion lithium-ion UPS

The Eaton 9PX2000RT-L is a 2000 VA, 1800 W double-conversion online UPS with a lithium-ion battery. It accepts 100, 110, 120 or 125 V input at 50 or 60 Hz and delivers the same selectable output voltages. The unit fits a 2U rack space or stands as a tower and includes seven output receptacles.

Hot-swappable battery runtime

Lithium-ion cells maintain capacity over many charge cycles and support hot-swappable internal batteries plus external battery modules. Double-conversion topology isolates connected equipment from input distortions continuously, so voltage regulation and frequency stability persist during extended utility anomalies without transferring to battery.

RS-232 and USB management limits

The UPS communicates through a standard RS-232 serial port and a USB port for monitoring and graceful shutdown software. Surge protection uses MOV devices rated at 271 V line-to-neutral and 510 V line-to-ground or neutral-to-ground with 190 J energy absorption. Remote on/off and remote power-off terminal blocks provide hardwired control but no network card is included.

Questions about this item

How much heat does the double-conversion topology produce when the 2000 VA unit runs at full 1800 W load all day?

The online double-conversion design runs continuously, so the internal batteries stay hot-swappable while the fans manage the heat load; the 50.60 lb chassis and 2U height provide the thermal mass Eaton engineered for sustained 1800 W operation.

Which input plug must my facility already provide for the 5-20P connection on this 120 V model?

A NEMA 5-20R receptacle on a 20 A branch circuit is required; the included input cable terminates in a 5-20P plug that matches that outlet.

Will the RS-232 serial cable and USB cable in the box let my older server monitor the lithium-ion battery status?

Both cables connect to the rear communication ports; the RS-232 link works with legacy management software while the USB link supports HID/UPS class drivers on current operating systems.
