Fast-acting ceramic fuse rated 2.5 A at 250 V AC and 125 V DC with 100 A interrupt at 250 V AC and 10 kA at 125 V AC/DC
The Eaton Bussmann ABC-2-1/2-R is a 2.5 A fast-acting ceramic fuse rated for 250 V AC and 125 V DC circuits. It suits equipment protection where a non-rejection, cylindrical body fits compatible fuse blocks such as the 3823, HFA or HKP series. The single-element design provides reliable overcurrent interruption for general electrical and generator supply circuits.
The fuse delivers an interrupt rating of 100 A at 250 V AC and 10 kA at both 125 V AC and 125 V DC. This capacity handles sustained fault currents well above the nominal 2.5 A rating, ensuring the circuit opens cleanly during prolonged overload conditions rather than only during brief transients.
The ceramic body dissipates heat effectively during normal operation at rated current, maintaining stable performance without external cooling. As a non-indicating fuse, it gives no visual signal when intact, so periodic inspection of the fuse block is the practical check. Power loss remains low at the 2.5 A rating, contributing minimal heat to the enclosure.

The ceramic body is designed to withstand the heat generated at the rated 2.5 A without degrading, and the fast-acting element clears overloads quickly to limit temperature rise.
Compatible fuse block series include 3823, HFA, HHN, HK, HKP, HPF, HRK, HTB and S-8000.
Yes, the 100 A interrupt rating at 250 V AC is well within a 10 kA panel rating, so the fuse will safely clear faults in those older installations.
