Fabric marker for light textiles

The edding 4500 textile marker delivers permanent grey ink on light-coloured fabrics such as cotton, silk and linen. It suits crafters personalising T-shirts, cushions or fabric bags. The 2-3 mm round nib handles colouring and lettering in a single stroke. Results withstand washing at up to 60 °C after heat-fixing with an iron.

Quick-drying, low-odour ink

The ink dries rapidly and produces minimal odour during use. Once ironed without steam, the marks become wash-resistant at 60 °C and remain extremely lightfast. No special ventilation or curing equipment is required for normal indoor projects.

Single pen in a 20-colour range

One grey marker is supplied; the same series offers 20 vibrant colours for broader palettes. The round nib width suits broader fills rather than fine detail, so users needing thinner lines may prefer the 4600 textile pen. The pen works straight from the box on pre-washed fabric.

Questions about this item

How do I heat-fix the 4500 marker on cotton so the grey ink survives a 60 °C wash?

After the ink dries, iron the decorated area without steam; the heat sets the pigment so it stays wash-resistant up to 60 °C.

When will the 2-3 mm round nib need replacing on the 4500 textile marker?

The nib is not replaceable; when it wears down or clogs, the whole pen is discarded.

How long can I draw continuously with the 4500 before the quick-drying ink stops flowing?

The ink is formulated to be quick-drying and low-odour; there is no published continuous-use time limit.
