Tri-Band Site Survey Tool

The Ekahau Sidekick 2 ESK-2 is a professional wireless accessory built for enterprise Wi-Fi site surveys and spectrum analysis. It integrates four tri-band radios that cover the 2.4, 5 and 6 GHz bands for comprehensive data capture. Nine custom wideband 3D antennas provide broad directional sensitivity during walk-through measurements. The device is brand new and ready for immediate deployment.

For Survey Engineers, Not Home Users

This instrument suits network engineers who validate enterprise wireless designs and troubleshoot interference in complex environments. The 50 sweeps-per-second spectrum analyzer delivers the resolution needed for professional reporting. Buyers who only need basic signal strength checks or simple heatmaps for a small office will find the feature set excessive. It is not intended for consumer router configuration or casual network monitoring.

USB-C Power and Fan Maintenance

The unit charges via USB-C and runs on an all-day battery with whisper-quiet active cooling for silent operation in occupied spaces. Installation is limited to pairing with Ekahau software on a laptop or tablet; no driver configuration is required. The internal fan draws dust over time, so periodic vent cleaning preserves thermal performance. Firmware updates are applied through the companion application to maintain radio calibration.

Questions about this item

Does the Ekahau Sidekick 2 ESK-2 need a separate computer or mobile device to run the survey software?

Yes, the Sidekick 2 acts as a measurement sensor and connects to a laptop or tablet running Ekahau survey applications for data capture and reporting.

Can I use the ESK-2 alongside my existing 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi equipment during a site survey?

The tri-band radios scan 2.4, 5 and 6 GHz simultaneously, so legacy 2.4 GHz networks are measured without interference from the analyser itself.

How do I confirm the 50 sweeps-per-second spectrum analyser is capturing data correctly after setup?

Open the Ekahau software, start a live spectrum view and verify that the waterfall display updates smoothly across all three bands with continuous sweep activity.
