Elac Debut 2.0 B6.2 Bookshelf Pair

The Elac Debut 2.0 B6.2 is a two-way bass-reflex bookshelf speaker pair finished in black. Each cabinet houses a 1" cloth-dome tweeter and a 6 1/2" aramid-fibre woofer driven through a 2200 Hz crossover. The CARB2-rated MDF enclosures use dual flared ports and 5-way metal binding posts for amplifier connection. The set ships with power cords and a manual.

Suits stereo listeners wanting extended bandwidth

The 44 Hz to 35000 Hz frequency response and 87 dB sensitivity at 2.83 V/1 m serve music and home-cinema users who value wide-range reproduction from compact cabinets. Buyers needing higher sensitivity for very low-power amplifiers or deeper bass without a subwoofer should consider other designs. The 6 ohm nominal impedance works with most modern integrated amps and AV receivers.

Handles 120 W peaks during extended sessions

Maximum power input of 120 W lets the pair sustain dynamic passages without compression when driven by a capable amplifier. The aramid-fibre woofer and cloth-dome tweeter maintain composure through long listening periods, while the dual flared ports reduce port noise at higher output levels. Cabinet dimensions of 7.69" x 14.76" x 10.55" fit standard shelves and stands.

Questions about this item

What amplifier power and impedance rating do I need to drive the 6-ohm, 87 dB sensitivity speakers properly?

Choose an amplifier rated for 6-ohm loads that can deliver up to 120 W per channel; the 87 dB sensitivity at 2.83 V means moderate power will reach comfortable listening levels.

Will the rear dual-flared ports cause boomy bass if I place the 14.76-inch tall cabinets close to a wall?

The dual-flared port design reduces turbulence, but leaving at least a few inches of space behind each cabinet helps the bass reflex tuning stay clean.

How can I verify the speakers are performing correctly after connecting them to my amplifier?

Play a frequency sweep from 44 Hz to 35 kHz; both drivers should track smoothly through the 2.2 kHz crossover with no rattles, distortion or channel imbalance.
