Star Wars Squadrons PS4 game

Star Wars Squadrons is a first-person space combat game for PlayStation 4 published by Electronic Arts. It puts players in the cockpits of iconic New Republic and Imperial starfighters such as the X-wing and TIE fighter. The experience includes a single-player story set after Return of the Jedi and competitive 5 versus 5 multiplayer dogfights across varied battlefields.

PlayStation VR and Camera requirement

This edition includes VR content that requires a PlayStation VR headset and a PlayStation Camera to function. Sony advises that PlayStation VR is not for use by children under age 12. If you do not own both accessories, the VR modes will not be accessible. The standard game plays on a regular PS4 without additional hardware.

Thermals noise and power in normal use

As a software title on a physical disc, the game draws no power of its own and produces no noise. System thermals and fan behaviour depend entirely on the PlayStation 4 console running the disc. Ensure the console has adequate ventilation for extended play sessions.

Questions about this item

Does the PS4 ELA 74165 game case contain the disc only, or are PlayStation VR and Camera bundled inside?

The box holds the Star Wars Squadrons game disc for PlayStation 4. PlayStation VR headset and PlayStation Camera are not included; they must be purchased separately to access the VR missions.

Should I pick the standard PS4 edition or a different version for the full single-player campaign and 5v5 multiplayer?

This PS4 ELA 74165 edition delivers the complete Star Wars Squadrons experience — the post-Return of the Jedi story, all New Republic and Imperial starfighters like the X-wing and TIE fighter, and the full 5 versus 5 multiplayer modes.

What does the ESRB Teen rating mean for a 12-year-old wanting to fly X-wings in VR on this disc?

The game is rated T for Teen, and the VR features carry a separate age notice: PlayStation VR is not for use by children under 12. A 12-year-old can play the non-VR content, but VR missions require the headset and the player to be at least 12.
