Tailored Grid for Rotalux Indirect Octa

The Elinchrom Rotagrid EL26779 mounts directly to the front of the Rotalux Indirect Octa 59in (150cm) EL26188 softbox. It is built for photographers and videographers who need to minimize light spill and add directionality to their setup. The grid narrows the beam to a 30 degree angle while preserving the soft quality of light the Rotalux range is known for. A storage pouch with clear labelling is included for organisation.

Suits Precision Lighting; Not for Wide Coverage

This accessory suits users who want selective subject lighting with sharper shadows and more pronounced contrast. It is not for shooters who need the full, unrestricted spread of the bare softbox or a wider beam angle for large group illumination. The honeycomb cells are designed for focused illumination and atmospheric effects rather than maximum area coverage. Buyers requiring a different size grid must match their specific softbox model.

Hook-and-Loop Attachment Folds Flat

Installation uses hook and loop fasteners for a swift attachment to the softbox front. The rigid yet lightweight fabric construction retains its shape over time and folds down flat for simple storage and transport. The main risk is misalignment during fitting which can leave gaps that reduce spill control. Ensure the grid seats evenly around the entire perimeter before shooting.

Questions about this item

Which softbox must I already own for the Rotagrid EL26779 to mount correctly?

It mounts directly to the Rotalux Indirect Octa 59in (150cm) EL26188 via hook-and-loop fasteners on the front face.

Will the 30-degree beam angle still give me the soft wrap the Rotalux is known for when I add this grid?

The 30-degree cells narrow the spread while preserving the soft quality, giving directional control without harsh edges.

How can I verify the grid is seated properly after I attach it?

The fabric grid should lie flat and taut across the entire 59in octagonal opening with all hook-and-loop strips engaged and no sagging cells.
