Bedroom Clock Radio with Battery Backup

The Emerson DS206 is a mains-powered digital alarm clock radio designed for bedside use. It offers an FM tuner, a fully dimmable LCD display, a USB charging port and a battery-backup system that keeps time during short power cuts.

FM-Only Tuner and Display Limits

The radio receives FM stations between 87.5 and 108.0 MHz and cannot tune AM broadcasts. Volume adjusts from level 0 to 15, while the sleep timer runs for 10 to 120 minutes. The dimmer wheel controls display brightness from 100 % down to 0 % and the clock reads in 12- or 24-hour format.

USB Charging and Backup Headroom

A single USB port lets you charge a phone or similar device overnight without an extra wall adapter. Three AAA batteries (not supplied) maintain the clock and alarm settings for a short period when mains power fails, but they do not run the radio or the display.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 12-hour or 24-hour display format for the DS206 clock?

The DS206 lets you switch between 12-hour and 24-hour time formats using the controls on the unit. Pick whichever style you read more comfortably.

What does the 0-100% dimmer range actually do on the 4-inch LCD?

The dimmer wheel adjusts the blue LED backlight from fully bright (100%) down to completely off (0%) so the display never disturbs sleep.

How does the FM tuner's 87.5-108.0 MHz range limit what I can hear?

The tuner receives standard FM broadcast stations only; AM, weather band and internet streams are not supported.
