Portable 720p LCD projector

This Emerson EVP-2001C is a new portable home theater projector with a native 1280 x 720 LCD panel and an LED light source rated for up to 20000 hours. It produces 100 ANSI lumens brightness and a 500:1 contrast ratio. The unit weighs 1.92lbs and includes a 100" portable screen and a carrying case.

Buyers needing a self-contained movie kit

The bundle suits users who want a projector, screen and case in one package for casual viewing in darkened rooms. Bluetooth lets you pair external speakers for louder sound. It is not for buyers who need high brightness for lit rooms or a native 1080p or 4K panel for sharp detail on large images.

100 ANSI lumen brightness spec

The 100 ANSI lumen rating is the key figure that decides if this projector fits your environment. It supports screen sizes from 31.9" to 150" at a throw distance within that range. Two HDMI ports, USB 2.0, a memory card slot and AV IN provide the input options.

Questions about this item

How loud is the fan and how much heat does the 50 W power draw create during all-day use?

The unit draws 50 W and uses an LED light source rated for 20 000 hours, so heat output stays low; no fan-noise figure is published.

Which streaming stick or media player do I need to supply myself to watch apps through the HDMI ports?

You must provide a Fire Stick, Roku or Chromecast; the projector has two HDMI inputs but no built-in streaming apps.

Will my older laptop with only a VGA port connect to the EVP-2001C without an adapter?

Yes, the projector includes a VGA input so a legacy laptop can connect directly.
