EMERSON F22 two-way radios

The EMERSON F22 two-pack supplies licence-free FRS communication on the 462-467 MHz band. Each unit weighs 0.39 kilograms and runs on a 3.7 volt, 1400mAh lithium cell that charges via USB-C. The set is water resistant and includes an integrated LED flashlight for low-light tasks.

Extended operation on a single charge

The 1400mAh battery delivers up to 96 hours of standby time, letting a group stay in contact through multi-day hikes or shifts without hunting for a wall outlet. VOX hands-free mode with three sensitivity levels keeps transmission active while the user handles gear, and the channel-scan function monitors all 12 NOAA weather frequencies for alerts.

Thermals, noise and power draw

Low 3.7 volt operation means minimal heat during prolonged receive or occasional transmit cycles. Fanless construction keeps acoustic output to the speaker audio alone, and USB-C charging draws modest current from any standard power bank or vehicle port. The water-resistant housing protects the electronics without adding active cooling.

Questions about this item

How long will the 1400mAh battery last during a multi-day hike?

The rechargeable lithium pack delivers up to 96 hours of standby time and supports USB-C charging so you can top it up from a power bank on the trail.

What do I need to start using the pair right out of the box?

Both radios ship with built-in batteries and a USB-C cable; just charge them and they are ready — no separate cells or cradle required.

Will these FRS units interfere with my older 462 MHz walkie-talkies?

They operate on the same 462-467 MHz FRS band, so they can communicate directly with any compatible FRS radio on matching channels and privacy codes.
