SKU CH-YE74-SQAAG

A USB 3.0 dual-band WiFi adapter with two 5 dBi antennas delivering up to 867 Mbps on 5 GHz and 300 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, plus soft AP hotspot mode

  • Dual-band Wi-Fi on 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz for flexible network choice
  • USB 3.0 interface keeps data moving fast for 867 Mbps peak at 5 GHz
  • Two 5 dBi external antennas extend range and stabilise the signal
  • RTL8812BU chipset supports 802.11ac, 802.11n, 802.11g and 802.11b standards
  • Soft-AP mode turns a wired link into a Wi-Fi hotspot for other devices

Dual-Band USB 3.0 Wi-Fi Adapter

The EN-Labs AC1200M adds 802.11ac wireless to desktops and laptops that lack built-in Wi-Fi. It connects through a USB 3.0 port and uses the Realtek RTL8812BU chipset to deliver up to 867 Mbps on 5 GHz and 300 Mbps on 2.4 GHz. Two external 5 dBi antennas improve reception for home or office networks.

Thermals Noise and Power

The adapter draws power directly from the USB 3.0 bus so no external supply is needed. In normal operation it runs cool and silent because there are no moving parts. The low power draw leaves headroom for other USB devices on the same controller.

Build Integration

A free USB 3.0 Type-A port is the only hardware requirement. Driverless installation works on Windows XP through 11, Linux and Mac OS, while soft-AP mode lets the dongle share a wired connection as a Wi-Fi hotspot. Backwards compatibility with 802.11n, g and b networks keeps older routers usable.

Questions about this item

How do I install the EN-Labs AC1200M USB WiFi adapter and what step is often missed?

Plug the adapter into a USB 3.0 port, attach both 5dBi antennas, then install the driver for the RTL8812BU chipset on Windows or Mac OS; the step often missed is fitting both antennas before first use.

What maintenance or replacement will the EN-Labs AC1200M adapter need over time?

The two external 5dBi antennas can be unscrewed and replaced if damaged; otherwise keep the USB 3.0 connector and antenna threads clean for reliable contact.

What limit appears first when the EN-Labs AC1200M adapter runs under sustained load?

The 802.11ac link caps at 867 Mbps on 5 GHz and 802.11n at 300 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, so sustained throughput cannot exceed those PHY rates.
