What it does and who needs it

This active adapter converts an HDMI source signal to a VGA display input while extracting stereo audio through a 3.5 mm jack. It suits users connecting laptops, desktops or tablets to legacy monitors or projectors that lack a digital port.

Maximum supported resolution

Video output reaches 1920x1080 and 1600x1200, with 720p also supported for broader compatibility. The built-in IC chip handles the digital-to-analogue conversion so the adapter works with a wider range of source devices.

Behaviour during extended use

Gold-plated connectors resist corrosion to maintain a stable signal over long sessions. The lightweight eight-inch cable assembly reduces strain on ports, and the separate 3.5 mm audio lead keeps sound routed to external speakers without signal degradation.

Questions about this item

What does the 1920x1080 figure mean once the adapter is in my setup?

It means the adapter can drive a VGA monitor at full 1920x1080 resolution, matching common 1080p displays without scaling or letterboxing.

What interface standard does the HDMI side use and what does it cap in practice?

The HDMI 19-pin male connector carries standard HDMI signals; the built-in active chip converts them to VGA, limiting output to the adapter's maximum of 1920x1080 or 1600x1200.

What does the adapter physically need to fit and mount in my bag or on a desk?

The unit is an 8-inch straight cable with a male HDMI plug on one end and a female VGA port on the other, plus a 3.5 mm stereo jack and a separate 3-foot audio cable — no extra mounting hardware required.
