SATA-to-Molex power adapter

This 15-pin SATA male to 4-pin LP4 female cable lets you power an IDE hard drive from a modern SATA power connector. It is intended for builders adding legacy storage to a current ATX or EPS power supply.

Voltage and connector limits

The adapter passes 5 V and 12 V DC through two connectors without active regulation. It supports 2.5 and 3.5 inch IDE hard disks, optical drives and other devices that use the large 4-pin interface.

Simple plug-in installation

Push the SATA male end into the PSU lead and the Molex female onto the drive until both seat firmly. Mis-aligned pins or a loose fit are the typical issues that prevent the drive from spinning up.
