A 30-piece aluminium heatsink kit with pre-applied thermal adhesive for Raspberry Pi 2, A, A+, B and B+ boards
This set supplies 10 packs of three aluminium heatsinks each, designed for Raspberry Pi 2, A, A+, B and B+ boards. The 3M 9448a thermal adhesive tape is pre-applied so installation is a simple peel-and-stick process. The low-profile heights keep the sinks inside most standard Raspberry Pi cases. Hobbyists and educators running headless or lightly loaded units will find the kit sufficient for passive cooling.
Each pack contains one 14mm x 14mm x 6mm sink for the CPU and two 8.8mm x 8.8mm x 5mm sinks for other ICs. Pure aluminium construction and the 9448 tape give efficient thermal transfer without adding bulk. The adhesive is strong enough for permanent mounting yet can be removed with a razor blade without damaging the chips. The sinks also fit other single-board computers such as BeagleBone.
The kit replaces running a bare board with no heatsinks, reducing the risk of thermal throttling and hardware failure due to overheating. The improvement is most noticeable when the Pi is enclosed in a case or tasked with sustained workloads. Buyers who need active airflow or higher thermal capacity for overclocked setups should look at fan-based solutions instead.
