EN-Labs 5V ARGB Controller

The EN-Labs MINIRGBCOSATA5V is a 5V 3-pin ARGB controller that draws power from a SATA connector on the power supply. It provides hardware control for addressable RGB fans, LED strips and water-cooling radiators when the motherboard lacks a 5V ARGB header. Builders who need simple, software-free lighting management for 5V devices will find it fits the role.

SATA-Powered ARGB Hub for Header-Less Builds

The adapter connects to a standard SATA power cable from the PSU and offers a single 5V 3-pin ARGB output for compatible devices. It removes the dependency on a motherboard ARGB header and eliminates the need for proprietary lighting software. The unit is intended only for 5V ARGB equipment and will not function with 12V 4-pin RGB hardware.

Three-Button Hardware Control Under Continuous Use

Three tactile buttons on the cable let the user cycle through six lighting effects, six speed levels and adjustable colour or brightness settings. Because the controller is powered directly from the PSU via SATA, lighting performance remains consistent during extended sessions without taxing the motherboard. It is not suitable for systems that require 12V RGB control or software-driven synchronisation.

Questions about this item

Does the controller draw enough SATA power to hit the PSU's current limit when all connected ARGB devices are at full brightness?

It powers up to two 5 V ARGB devices from a single SATA connector, so total draw stays within the standard SATA 5 V rail rating.

Will the controller or cables get noticeably warm after hours of continuous lighting effects?

The unit has no active cooling and simply passes SATA-supplied 5 V power to the ARGB headers; it runs at low wattage and stays cool to the touch.

What must already be in the build for this controller to work?

A free SATA power plug from the power supply and any 5 V 3-pin ARGB fans, strips or water-cooling lights you want to control.
