Adds seven USB 3.0 ports through a PCIe x1 slot with dual power modules and NEC controllers
The EN-Labs expansion card adds seven external USB 3.0 ports through a single PCIe x1 slot. It is compatible with PCIe x2, x4, x8 and x16 slots and includes a full-profile bracket for standard desktop mounting. The board uses NEC720201 and NEC720210 controller chips to manage connectivity.
This card suits PC builders who require additional high-speed ports for external hard drives, optical drives, printers, scanners or webcams. It operates without an auxiliary power connector thanks to its two onboard power modules. Buyers using PlayStation 3 or PlayStation 4 consoles should look elsewhere as the card is not compatible with those platforms.
Each of the seven ports delivers up to 5 Gbps theoretical bandwidth and remains backward compatible with USB 2.0 and 1.1 devices. Every port has its own solid capacitor to maintain stable voltage and independent power delivery of 5V 2A. The 2-phase power design allows all ports to run simultaneously without external power.

Open Device Manager, locate the NEC720201 or NEC720210 controller under Universal Serial Bus controllers, and confirm the port speed shows SuperSpeed USB 3.0.
The card ships with a full-profile PCI slot cover; no auxiliary power cables are required because the two onboard power modules draw from the slot.
Select this 7-port model only if you need seven independent 5V2A ports with dedicated solid capacitors; a smaller card suits fewer devices.
