Purpose and compatibility

The EN-Labs PSDP2DVI is a passive DisplayPort to DVI-D adapter for connecting a DP++ equipped computer or laptop to a monitor or projector with a DVI-D or DVI-I input. It supports resolutions up to 1920 x 1200 and 1080p for clear video output. Gold-plated connectors resist corrosion and a latching DisplayPort plug secures the link. Audio is not carried and a separate DVI cable is required.

Thermals noise and power

As a passive converter the adapter draws no external power and adds no active cooling or noise to the system. It simply re-maps the DP++ dual-mode signals to the DVI electrical interface. The short eight-inch tail keeps cable clutter minimal. Heat generation is negligible because no signal processing or amplification occurs inside the housing.

Sustained load behaviour

Under continuous use the adapter maintains the supported 1920 x 1200 and 1080p resolutions without signal degradation. The passive design means performance does not throttle over time since there are no active components to overheat. It is not suited for sources lacking a DP++ port or for applications that require audio transmission over the link.
