Mini DisplayPort 1.2 to HDMI adapter

This passive converter links a Mini DisplayPort 1.2 source to an HDMI display. It is built for users who need to connect a DP++ laptop or desktop to a monitor, projector or HDTV without installing drivers or carrying a power supply.

DP++ source required for passive operation

The adapter only works when the host port supports DP++ dual-mode signalling. A pure DisplayPort 1.2 output without the dual-mode capability will not transmit video through this passive unit. An HDMI cable must be supplied separately to complete the link.

Maximum resolution 3840x2160 at 30 Hz

Video output tops out at 3840x2160 pixels refreshed at 30 Hz. Systems that need 4K at 60 Hz or higher refresh rates cannot use this converter. Audio passes through uncompressed in 7.1, 5.1 or 2 channel formats.

How does the Mini DisplayPort 1.2 interface limit what I can connect?

The 1.2 link caps output at 3840x2160@30Hz and carries up to 7.1 audio channels through the HDMI 19-pin female port.
