Connects a 36-pin SFF-8087 SAS controller to four 29-pin SFF-8482 drives with integrated 15-pin SATA power over a 0.5 m shielded copper cable
Length 0.5m
This 0.5 metre cable connects a single SFF-8087 host port to four SFF-8482 drive connectors. It is built for administrators wiring internal SAS hard drives to a compatible RAID controller or HBA. The blue jacket and black sleeves identify the assembly inside a server chassis.
Each of the four target ends carries a 15-pin SATA power feed alongside the 29-pin data interface. Shielded copper conductors support up to 6 Gbps per channel without an external power adapter. The 50 cm length keeps routing tidy in dense drive cages.
The single 36-pin plug fans out to four keyed 29-pin sockets, so installers do not need separate forward cables or power splitters. Package includes one complete assembly ready for immediate installation in supported IBM ServeRAID and other controllers.
Measured against everything we stock in SAS, SCSI, InfiniBand & MCIO Cables, at today’s prices. Recalculated every night.

Other versions of this model
Plug the 36-pin SFF-8087 end into the controller and each 29-pin SFF-8482 end into a drive; the step often missed is connecting the 15-pin SATA power plug on every SFF-8482 branch so the drives receive power.
The copper conductors and shielding are passive; no scheduled maintenance is required, but replace the cable if the blue jacket shows cracking, the SFF-8087 latch fails to click, or any 29-pin connector pins are bent.
The 0.5 metre length and copper conductor keep signal loss low, so the practical limit is the controller or drive throughput ceiling, not the cable itself.
