This adapter connects a 2.5" SATA hard drive or SSD to a USB 3.0 port on a PC or laptop. It uses a JMS578 bridge controller to support SATA 6Gbps drives with 1.5Gbps, 3Gbps, or 6Gbps transfer rates. The cable length is 8 inch. It turns an internal drive into a portable external storage device for data access or migration.

Compatibility check before ordering

Verify that your drive is a 2.5" or 1.8" SATA model; the adapter does not work with 3.5" hard drives. Confirm your host has a USB 3.0 port for full speed, though it will fall back to USB 2.0.
