MIDI adapter for studio and stage
This cable connects a 3.5 mm audio output to a standard 5-pin DIN MIDI input. The 90-degree plug reduces strain on device ports during live performance or studio sessions. It supports all MIDI messages including SysEx for full parameter control. The three-metre length gives flexible routing between instruments and interfaces.
Replaces direct DIN-to-DIN or USB-MIDI links
Use this adapter when a keyboard, synthesizer, organ or electric piano only offers a 3.5 mm MIDI output and the receiving device expects a DIN5 connector. It removes the need for a separate USB-MIDI interface on legacy gear. The discrete five-pin wiring ensures reliable data transfer without protocol conversion. Not suitable for Jamstik MIDI devices.
Handles standard MIDI data streams
The cable carries note, controller and SysEx messages between compatible instruments, computers and European stereo equipment with DIN5P ports. It runs out when the source device uses a proprietary MIDI implementation such as Jamstik. The fixed three-metre length may limit placement in larger stage setups. No power or active electronics are included.

Questions about this item
What devices accept the 3.5 mm 90° plug on this cable?
The right-angle 3.5 mm jack fits any audio output with a standard 3.5 mm socket — computers, phones, MP3/MP4 players, CD or DVD players, and similar line-level sources.
How do I connect the DIN 5-pin end, and what mistake should I avoid?
Plug the male DIN 5-pin connector into the female MIDI or DIN port on your keyboard, synthesizer, organ, electric piano or European stereo equipment; do not force it into a Jamstik MIDI port — this cable is not compatible with that system.
Will the 5-pin discrete wiring need any upkeep or replacement over time?
The cable uses fixed 5-pin discrete wiring compatible with all standard MIDI messages including SysEx; no internal components require servicing — replace the whole lead only if the plugs or jacket suffer physical damage.
