WiFi 6 AX3600 4x4 Access Point

This EnGenius Technologies wireless access point delivers WiFi 6 performance with a 4x4 antenna configuration. It targets small businesses needing license-free cloud or on-premise management. The unit operates on dual concurrent bands and includes a 2.5 GbE port with PoE+ support for flexible placement up to 100 meters from the switch.

Sustained throughput and client handling

The 5 GHz band supports up to 2,400 Mbps while the 2.4 GHz band reaches 1,148 Mbps. OFDMA improves uplink and downlink efficiency to multiple devices simultaneously. MU-MIMO handles uplink and downlink streams for up to two devices at once, maintaining reliability when several users are active. WPA3 provides 192-bit encryption for stronger security during extended sessions.

Pre-installation checks

Verify your network switch or injector supplies 802.3at PoE+ at 48V, as the power adapter is not included. Ensure cabling supports 2.5 GbE speeds over the required distance, up to 328 feet. Plan VLAN segmentation needs in advance to match the enhanced isolation features. Confirm management preference between cloud-based FitXpress tools and local on-premise control before deployment.

Questions about this item

Does the 2.5 GbE port and PoE+ support keep the EnGenius AX3600 cool and quiet during continuous operation?

The access point uses 802.3at PoE+ input at 48 V over cable runs up to 100 meters, eliminating a separate power brick and fan noise while delivering full 2.5 GbE throughput.

What cabling and switch infrastructure do I already need to power and connect this EnGenius AX3600?

You need a Cat 5e or better Ethernet run up to 100 meters and a switch or injector that supplies 802.3at PoE+ at 48 V; no separate power adapter is included.

Will my older 802.11ac and 802.11n clients still connect reliably to this WiFi 6 access point?

Yes, the dual-concurrent 4x4 radio is backward-compatible with 11ac, 11a, 11b, 11g and 11n devices while adding OFDMA and MU-MIMO for newer WiFi 6 clients.
