Instant On AP22 Wi-Fi 6 access point

The HPE Instant On AP22 is a Wi-Fi 6 wireless access point built for small businesses that need reliable connectivity for growing numbers of mobile and IoT devices. It delivers a maximum data rate of 1.66 Gbit/s and supports IEEE 802.3af Power over Ethernet for simplified installation.

Gigabit uplink with PoE-in

The single Gigabit Ethernet uplink accepts 802.3af PoE power, removing the need for a separate power adapter and allowing flexible placement where mains sockets are unavailable. This single-cable deployment reduces cabling cost and complexity in ceiling or wall-mounted locations.

Suits small business Wi-Fi 6 upgrades

Ideal for offices, retail, hospitality or hybrid classrooms moving to Wi-Fi 6 where PoE infrastructure exists. Not suitable for buyers who need multi-gigabit uplinks, outdoor-rated enclosures or controller-based management features.

Questions about this item

Does the AP22 need any scheduled part replacements or filter changes?

The AP22 has no moving parts and no user-serviceable filters, so no scheduled hardware replacements are required.

What is the first bottleneck when the AP22 serves many clients at once?

The single Gigabit Ethernet uplink and the 1.66 Gbit/s aggregate Wi-Fi 6 throughput become the limiting factors under heavy load.

How much heat and noise does the AP22 produce when powered by 802.3af PoE all day?

Passive cooling keeps the AP22 silent, and the 802.3af PoE input limits power draw so surface temperatures stay low during continuous operation.
