6 ft 16/3 SJTW outdoor extension cord

This 6 ft power extension cord uses 16 AWG copper conductors in a three-wire SJTW construction. It is rated for 13 amps at 125 volts, delivering up to 1625 watts through a grounded 5-15 plug and receptacle. The cord is UL listed and built for general-purpose outdoor and indoor use.

13 amp 125 volt 1625 watt practical limits

The 16 AWG gauge restricts continuous load to 13 amps, so the cord suits lighting strings, small appliances and typical household tools. It cannot support high-draw equipment such as large heaters or heavy motors that exceed the 1625 watt rating. The temperature range spans -40°F to +140°F, maintaining flexibility across seasonal extremes.

Thick vinyl jacket with grounded three-prong plug

A thick vinyl jacket resists moisture, abrasion and prolonged sunlight exposure while staying flexible and tangle-free in cold conditions. The jacket is water resistant, flame retardant and features a slip-resistant surface. The three-prong grounded plug adds a safety ground path for connected devices.

Questions about this item

Which model fits a 6 ft run — DL-31 or DL-52?

Both DL-31 and DL-52 are offered in the 6 ft length; choose either for the same reach.

What does the 1625 W rating mean when the cord is plugged in?

It is the maximum continuous power the cord can deliver at 125 V and 13 A without overheating.

What does the 5-15P/R connector limit in practice?

The NEMA 5-15P/R plug and receptacle cap the cord at 15 A, so the 13 A rating stays within the connector's design limit.
