ESTONE CAT6 Ethernet Extension Cable Male to Female 6ft 2m Black Shielded 26AWG 550MHz

SKU CH-05TY-P6RTQ

Shielded CAT6 extension cable extends an existing network link up to 550 MHz bandwidth with 26 AWG stranded copper conductors

  • Overall length6 ft (1.83 m)
  • Product colorBlack
  • Extends existing Ethernet runs by 6 ft with male-to-female RJ45 connectors
  • Shielded FTP Cat 6 construction with 26 AWG stranded copper conductors for reliable signal integrity
  • 550 MHz bandwidth supports high-speed data transfer for streaming and server applications
  • Gold-plated contacts and foil plus braid shielding reduce interference across the link
  • Backward compatible with Cat 5 and Cat 5e networks for flexible deployment

Extending Wired Connections

This shielded Cat6 extension cable adds 6 ft of reach to an existing Ethernet link between a router, switch, NAS, printer, VoIP phone, PoE device or games console. The male-to-female RJ45 design protects the host port from repeated plugging and unplugging. It is intended for indoor patching where a permanent run is already in place.

Bandwidth And Standard Limits

The cable is rated to 550 MHz and complies with the TIA/EIA 568-C.2 Category 6 specification. Backward compatibility covers Cat5 and Cat5e links, but the 550 MHz ceiling means it cannot support the higher frequencies required by Cat6a or Cat7 applications. Maximum channel length rules for the overall network still apply.

Shielded Construction And Daily Use

An aluminum mylar foil plus tinned copper braid wraps eight stranded copper conductors at 26 AWG, giving an overall diameter of 6.2 mm. Gold-plated contacts resist oxidation, while the FTP shielding reduces alien crosstalk in dense cable trays. The flexible jacket suits routing around desks or through trunking without kinking.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 6 ft black version or look for another length?

The cable is supplied as a single 6 ft black option; if you need a different reach you would need a separate cable of the required length.

What does the 550 MHz rating deliver in everyday use?

It provides bandwidth headroom for gigabit Ethernet and high-definition streaming, so large file transfers and 4K video run smoothly.

How does the TIA/EIA 568-C.2 standard and FTP shielding affect performance?

The standard ensures Cat 6 compliance and the foil plus braid shielding reduces crosstalk, keeping signal quality stable over the full 6 ft run.
