An optical-fibre DisplayPort cable carrying 8K at 60 Hz or 4K at 144 Hz over 100 ft with 32.4 Gbps bandwidth
Cable Length 100 Feet
This optical fibre DisplayPort 1.4 cable carries 8K at 60 Hz and 4K at 144 Hz over a 100 ft run. It is built for users who need high-resolution video across rooms or through conduit where copper cables cannot reach. The link runs at 32.4 Gbps and supports 7680 x 4320 resolution. It connects a DisplayPort source to a DisplayPort display in home-theatre, office, gaming or VR setups.
The cable uses four optical fibres for TMDS signals plus copper for auxiliary channels, all wrapped in double shielding. Solid copper conductors handle the low-speed lines while the fibre cores eliminate electromagnetic interference over the full length. Connectors are male-to-male and keyed: the end marked Source plugs into the GPU or laptop, the end marked Display plugs into the monitor or projector. Reversing the ends will result in no picture.
Copper DisplayPort cables typically lose signal integrity well before 100 ft, forcing installers to add repeaters or accept lower resolutions. This fibre cable delivers the full 32.4 Gbps bandwidth at the rated length without repeaters. The upgrade is worth it when the source and sink both support 8K 60 Hz or 4K 144 Hz and the cable path exceeds the practical limit of passive copper. It will not add capabilities that the connected devices do not already provide.
