What this cable delivers

The ESTONE Essager CGA120W is a USB Type-A to USB Type-C cable rated for 6 A and 120 W Power Delivery. It carries an integrated E-Marker chip that negotiates the higher voltage and current required for fast laptop charging. Data transfer runs at 480 Mbps. The 6.6 ft length adds reach for desk or travel use.

Who should buy it and who should not

Buyers with USB-C laptops, tablets or phones that accept up to 120 W PD charging will benefit from the faster fill rates. The reinforced nylon jacket and alloy connector ends suit users who plug and unplug frequently. Devices limited to lower PD profiles or legacy USB-A chargers will not reach the advertised speed. Anyone needing Thunderbolt or 5 Gbps and 10 Gbps data rates should choose a different cable.

Check before ordering

Confirm that your wall charger or power bank can output 120 W over USB-C PD; the cable alone cannot increase the source limit. Verify the device you are charging supports 20 V at 6 A through its USB-C port. Ensure the host port you plan to use is USB Type-A, because this cable does not fit USB-C source ports. The blue colour and 6.6 ft length are fixed.

Questions about this item

Do I need a 120W USB-C wall charger to get the 120W charging speed?

Yes, the manufacturer notes that a 120W USB-C wall charger is required to achieve the full 120W fast charging rate.

Will this cable work with my existing USB-A ports on an older laptop or power bank?

The cable has a USB Type-A connector on one end and a USB Type-C connector on the other, so it plugs directly into standard USB-A ports.

How can I verify the cable is delivering the full 120W after I plug it in?

The built-in E-Marker chip communicates the cable's 6A and 20V capability to the charger and device; you can confirm the negotiated power level in your device's battery or system settings.
