What you get

This pack contains two ESTONE Essager HC29W cables with USB-C to Lightning connectors. Each cable is 6.6 ft long and finished in black braided nylon. They are built for iPhone, iPad and iPod models that use a Lightning port and a USB-C power source.

Replaces slower USB-A cables

The cable supports up to 29 W Power Delivery and works with 25 W and 20 W chargers as well. An iPhone 13 can reach 60 % charge in 30 minutes, roughly three times faster than a standard USB-A to Lightning cable. The jump is worthwhile when you already own a USB-C PD charger rated 29 W or higher.

Limited to USB 2.0 data speeds

Data transfer tops out at 480 Mbps, the ceiling of the USB 2.0 interface used by Lightning. The built-in LED display shows real-time charging power so you can confirm fast-charge status, but it does not increase bandwidth. Buyers who need faster sync speeds or video output should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

What connector does the cable need on the charger side?

The cable has a USB-C input interface that plugs into any USB-C Power Delivery charger rated 29 W or higher for full speed.

What is the common mistake when first using the LED display cable?

Buyers often forget to use a PD 29 W or higher power adapter, so the LED never shows the fast-charge indicator.

How long is the braided nylon jacket rated to last under bending stress?

The jacket is tested to 40,000 bend cycles and 10,000 insertions, which the maker equates to roughly 10 years of daily use.
