What the switch does

The ESTONE HDMI 2.1 Bi-Directional Switch routes signals between two sources and one display, or between one source and two displays. It supports resolutions up to 8K at 60 Hz and 4K at 120 Hz, plus 1080p at 240 Hz. The unit handles VRR, Dynamic HDR, Dolby Vision, HDR10+, HDCP 2.3, eARC and DTS:X. A 48 Gbps bandwidth covers the full HDMI 2.1 specification.

What to verify first

Confirm that each device you plan to connect uses a standard HDMI interface. For 8K at 60 Hz or 4K at 120 Hz output, all cables in the chain must meet the HDMI 2.1 standard. If you intend to use ARC or eARC audio return, the display must also provide that function. The switch cannot show two outputs at the same time.

Build and daily use

A black aluminium shell protects the internal circuitry and helps dissipate heat during extended sessions. Two HDMI ports sit on the unit for source or display connections, depending on the chosen direction. A simple button toggles the active path without software or external power. Gold-plated contacts resist corrosion and maintain signal integrity over repeated plug cycles.

Questions about this item

Does the ESTONE HDMI 2.1 Bi-Directional Switch include any cables in the box, or must they be purchased separately?

The product is supplied as the switch unit only; HDMI cables are not included and must be bought separately to connect sources and displays.

Should I choose the 2-in-1-out or 1-in-2-out mode for a PS5 and a PC sharing one 4K 120 Hz monitor?

Use the 2-in-1-out mode to connect both the PS5 and PC as inputs and the monitor as the single output, allowing you to switch between them.

Will the advertised 48 Gbps bandwidth deliver 4K at 120 Hz with HDR on my Xbox Series X?

Yes, the 48 Gbps link supports 4K at 120 Hz with HDR, VRR and Dolby Vision, provided the console, cable and display all meet the HDMI 2.1 specification.
